The Best Way to Lose Abdominal Fat

If you’ve ever seen the 2006 movie, Lady in the Water, then you probably know Reggie’s character there. The guy decided to work out only one side of his body and, as a result, his left arm is noticeably less built and muscular compared to the bulging biceps on his right arm.

Reggie illustrates one important point about working out: the body works best as a whole and not with only one isolated part. Not unless you were planning to end up looking like him.

So if you want to lose abdominal fat then you must realize that isolating your focus and putting it solely on training your midsection is definitely NOT the way to go. Which is why no matter how many sets of crunches you perform, your abdomen is only going to end up sore yet still buried underneath a pile of ugly stomach fat.

This means all those products and contraptions which claim to help people lose abdominal fat are really just helping them to burn calories and not carve a perfect six-pack like their models are showing. Moreover, single-focus muscle exercises on only one body part tend to create a non-functional body that is prone to injuries.

You have to understand that if you want your abs to show, then your entire body needs to work for it, and not just your abdominal muscles. Your body is one big system of inter-working muscles that are designed to help each other out. You can’t just train one body part, you have to train the whole thing and once you do, your body will thank you in the form of healthy and balanced musculature.

If you want your abs to show, the need to lose abdominal fat is number one priority. Unfortunately, doing crunches and sit ups in hopes of burning all those belly weight is not enough. The body doesn’t choose to burn fat that’s directly on top of a muscle group being trained, it burns fat equally from all parts of the body, so a full body work out is necessary to get rid of all those extra baggage. Don’t be scared with the notion of a full body work out, because chances are, you’re already doing the same activities without even realizing them.

Going up a flight of stairs instead of taking the elevator is a good example. It gives the body nice cardio training and it also helps you lose total body fat, including the ones bulging your belly. The next time you go to the office or your apartment, try doing staircase work outs. There’s a big chance that many people do not take the stairs and so you can perfectly go up and down without worrying about how silly you would look. If you’re at home, practice on your own staircase. The advantages of this work out are you already lose body fat, plus you also get strong and perfect legs as a bonus.

Swimming is another full body work out most people do not appreciate. Yes, a lot of people already knows that swimming is a good exercise however, knowing this alone is not enough. If you have a pool, or if you live near a facility with an available swimming pool, doing a few laps every 2-3 days is enough work out for you to lose abdominal fat.

A full body work out can easily exhaust you especially if you’re only beginning to get the hang of it. That’s why it’s important to take short recuperative breaks after a set of laps or a full set of going up and down a flight of stairs. These are a great way for you to train a healthier and stronger body, build balanced muscles, and more importantly, finally lose abdominal fat.
